Products · BoQ Management

Bill of Quantities, costed and connected to Fusion.

Manage construction Bills of Quantities — items, rates, quantities, and revisions — with cost rollup, change-order tracking, and integration with Oracle Fusion projects and procurement.

Overview

What it does.

BoQ Management gives construction and engineering teams a structured way to author, cost, revise, and execute against Bills of Quantities. Items are organized by section and phase; rates and quantities feed a live cost model; revisions track who changed what and why. When approved, BoQ commitments flow into Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management and Procurement, so financial actuals can be measured against the original quantity take-off.

Capabilities

Key capabilities.

Architecture

How it works.

BoQ Management is an APEX application on Oracle Autonomous Database, integrated with Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management and Procurement through Oracle Integration Cloud. The BoQ store, rate libraries, and revision history live in the application's database; commitments and actuals are exchanged with Fusion through governed integrations. The product is currently delivered on Oracle Fusion, architected to extend to other ERPs that expose project and procurement APIs.

Audience

Who it's for.

Construction and engineering PMOs

Need a structured BoQ tool that ties into the financial system of record — not a spreadsheet that lives outside ERP.

Cost engineers and quantity surveyors

Want rate libraries, revision history, and what-if analysis without leaving the tool used for execution.

CFOs of EPC and construction firms

Want variance between as-bid BoQ and actual cost visible at the project, package, and item level.

Frequently asked questions.

Can we import BoQs from Excel?

Yes. Import templates handle hierarchical structure (section / sub-section / item), rates, quantities, and units of measure. Validation catches common issues — duplicate item codes, missing rates, unit mismatches — before commit.

How is BoQ linked to actual project execution?

Approved BoQ items create commitments in Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management. Actual costs posted in Fusion against those commitments flow back into BoQ Management for variance analysis at the item, section, or project level.

Can we manage multi-currency BoQs?

Yes — items and rates can be stored in transaction currency with conversion to project currency for rollup. Currency translation policies follow Fusion's configured rates.

How are subcontractor packages handled?

BoQ sections bundle into subcontractor packages with the items, quantities, and rates relevant to that package. Award status, contract reference, and execution progress are tracked per package.

Does it integrate with non-Oracle systems?

The current integration is to Oracle Fusion. The architecture supports integration with other project and procurement systems through OIC connectors — assessed and quoted per engagement.
